Certified Nurse Midwife

OB/GYN

I was born and raised in Morristown Tennessee and relocated back to the Johnson City area in January 2017. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from East Tennessee State University in late 2007. After working for over two years on a high-risk labor and delivery unit in Winston-Salem I realized that my passion for working with women was a personal priority. I began to purse my Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) where I received my credentials as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) from Frontier Nursing University and graduated with honors in 2013. I had the opportunity to practice with women as a first time midwife in Murrells Inlet South Carolina for over two years before relocating back to Tennessee. I am honored to have been a part of one of the first “Centering in Pregnancy” programs established in South Carolina where women were empowered to choose health-promoting behaviors and engage in shared decision making while in a group setting. I have also had the opportunity to act as a nurse educator for other advanced practice nurses that desire to pursue their passion for helping others. Collectively I have over seven years of high-risk labor and delivery experience and embrace the opportunity to empower women during their pregnancies one baby at a time.

I am currently providing individualized clinic and hospital based care to women and their families during the antepartum period, labor, birth and postpartum stages of their pregnancy. I am also dedicated to providing preventative and diagnostic GYN services to women during their teenage, premenopausal and postmenopausal stages of life.

I am a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) as well as the Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing Association (AWHONN) in the state of Tennessee.

When I am not at work I spend my free time playing golf, traveling, cheering on the Volunteers, being with friends and family and entertaining others. I look forward to providing collaborative based care for women with the physicians of State of Franklin OBGYN for many years to come.
