Internal Medicine

I knew that nursing was what I wanted to do from the time I was 5 years old. My journey to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner has been a long one. I attended Tennessee Technology Center at Morristown and graduated as an LPN in 2005. Limited by my scope of practice, I decided to advance my knowledge and pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. I graduated from ETSU with a BSN in 2014. My first job as an RN was with Dr. Candi Overholt while she was still practicing in Greeneville. After three and a half years with her, I felt like God was calling me to go back to school yet again. I graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from Lincoln Memorial University in 2019. It is both a privilege and an honor to be here in my hometown serving my community while doing what I love. I want to be the hands and feet of Jesus as I treat my patients. So many verses in God’s word has spoken to me throughout my life. It is hard to pick just one that I would call my favorite. The events of our recent past can weigh heavy on the mind and heart and it brings to mind this verse –

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up on wings as eagles; they shall run and not grow weary, and they shall walk and not faint.” –   Isaiah 40:31
