I am so happy to combine my two favorite things: taking care of women with their health care needs and living in east Tennessee. I was born and raised in Kingsport. No matter where I have lived, this area has always been home.

During one of my early nursing classes I met a certified nurse midwife and knew midwifery was the right career path for me. I wanted to take care of women in their pregnancies and help them be educated and have input into their care. I started my career as a labor and delivery nurse at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. After a few years I was ready to go after my goals and returned to school to obtain my Masters in Nursing with a concentration in midwifery.

My first midwifery job was in Battle Creek, Michigan. I enjoyed being in a small community and even enjoyed the snow. After I began my own family, Michigan was too far away from family. We moved to the Atlanta, GA area and I joined Kaiser Permanente. I enjoyed that group for more than 19 years and loved caring for and educating women while developing ongoing relationships with my patients. Now that nurse midwifery has arrived in upper east Tennessee, I am so excited to bring my years of experience back to my home. I look forward to adding many more years at State of Franklin OB/GYN doing a job that I absolutely adore and feel truly blessed to be a part of this wonderful team.

When not working, I enjoy cooking, hiking, gardening and reading. I also love spending time with my adult children and my pets. I look forward to settling back into the Tri-cities and becoming a part of this wonderful community again.
