David Nerness, MD is a board-certified physician with 27 years of experience caring for patients. He was born in Tokyo, Japan, to missionary parents. When his family returned to the United States, they settled in North Carolina, which enabled him to grow up in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains. He chose family medicine due to the relationships with patients and the variety of care. He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California and completed his residency at AdventHealth Family Medicine Residency in Florida.

Outside of work, Dr. Nerness enjoys spending time with his wife of 27 years, Pamela, who is a Greeneville native, and his four children. His hobbies include reading the Bible, hiking, biking, woodworking, and beekeeping.
