Internal Medicine

My first job showed me how science intersects with compassion and empathy. My love for medicine budded into a desire to serve the people of East Tennessee. I attended Walters State Community College where again God used riveting professors to hone me through science.  Moving to East Tennessee State, my studies challenged me to understand what I believed about God and God in Medicine. During this time, I married my high school sweetheart and was accepted into the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.  I then matched into Wake Forest’s Internal Medicine program in Winston-Salem. I moved into the Primary Care tract which allows for critical diagnostic skills and the continuity of care.  Medicine allows me to serve patients in prevention, diagnosing, and treatment.  In my spare time, I love to travel and hike with my family; my husband of 20 years and our five children. My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans “I have for you,” declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
