Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

Family Medicine

Dr. Amanda Lingerfelt is a (soon to be) board certified physician in Family Medicine. She attended ETSU for her undergraduate degree before attending the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, SC for her medical training. She was blessed with the opportunity to return home to East Tennessee to complete her Family Medicine residency training at ETSU Family Physicians of Kingsport. She served as Chief Resident during her final year of residency before graduating and joining the SOFHA Team in Carter County. Being from the small, yet beautiful, town of Unicoi County, she knew her calling was to stay in East Tennessee and serve the community near and dear to her heart. Her medical interests include rural and underserved care, preventative medicine, women’s health, chronic disease management, and osteopathic manipulative medicine.

Both, she and her husband, grew up in Unicoi County together. They are thrilled to be returning to their childhood roots while also being near their families. They can often be found playing with their niece, nephews, or two Labrador retrievers, Bella and Kimbo. In their spare time, they enjoy hiking in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains as well as traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad. In Dr. Lingerfelt’s spare time, she enjoys reading, attending or participating in various sporting events, cooking and organic gardening.
