Richard K. Panek, ACMPE
Chief Executive Officer

Richard Panek is the CEO of State of Franklin Healthcare Associates, a physician owned and operated group practice of 159 providers and over 700 team members. SoFHA represents twelve primary care practices with a population of more than 112,000 unique patients who generate approximately 400,000 patient visits each year. Richard began his career with SoFHA in 1997 as the CEO of UniPhy Health Care, Inc., and Administrator of State of Franklin Healthcare Associates, PLLC. In 2008, Richard was named the CEO/Administrator of SoFHA independent of Symbion (UniPhy). He graduated from State University of New York, Cortland, New York in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science. He received a Masters of Health Services Administration from George Washington University in 1983, and certification as a Certified Medical Practice Executive by the American College of Medicine Practice Executives in 1999.

Michael Longhouser, CMPE
Chief Operating Officer

Michael Longhouser is the Chief Operating Officer of State of Franklin Healthcare Associates. He began his career with State of Franklin Healthcare in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer. He served as CFO until 2007 when he also assumed the role of COO. As COO, Michael is responsible for the day to day operations of SoFHA. Prior to working with SoFHA, Michael was Regional Vice President for Pricare, a physician practice management company and other various management positions in healthcare. Michael was raised on the gulf coast of Florida and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tampa College. He received certification as a Certified Medical Practice Executive by the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

Dan Bragg, CPA, CMPE
Chief Financial Officer

Dan Bragg is the Chief Financial Officer for State of Franklin Healthcare Associates. He is a lifelong resident of Johnson City and has worked in healthcare administration locally for almost 20 years. Dan is responsible for managing financial operations for the organization; including, Accounting, Information Technology, Central Billing, Supply Chain, Physician Recruitment, Business Development and Marketing. Dan is a Certified Public Accountant; graduating from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1994. He was recognized as a Certified Medical Practice Executive by the American College of Medical Practice Executives in 2013.

Amanda Clear, MHA
Director of Quality
Quality Improvement Team

Amanda Clear is the Director of Quality for State of Franklin Healthcare Associates. She has 24 years of healthcare experience; including 12 years as Director of Business Services for SoFHA. In this role, she was in charge of payer contracting and revenue cycle management. As Director of Quality, Amanda continued in her responsibility for payer contracting and assumed accountability for strategic development of team-based care of patients with the Quality Improvement Team supporting over 60,000 patients. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Milligan College, a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from Walden University. She is also a Certified Professional Coder. Amanda is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Academy of Professional Coders.
