Robert Reynolds, APRN, DNP, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 18 years of nursing experience, including a decade in advanced practice. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Berea College and an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Highlands Community College. He later completed both his Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees at Frontier Nursing University.

Robert’s doctoral project focused on improving patient safety through the implementation of evidence-based protocols for opioid pain medication use in adult hospitalized patients. His work reflects a strong commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based care.

Throughout his career, Robert has gained diverse clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, case management, utilization review, infectious disease, and hospitalist medicine. He has also served as an Epic trainer, supporting healthcare teams in optimizing electronic medical record use to enhance patient care.

Before entering nursing, Robert built a varied professional background that includes restaurant management, work as a cancer research laboratory assistant, and experience as an R&D product chemist—bringing a unique, multidisciplinary perspective to his healthcare practice.

Originally from East Detroit, Michigan, Robert spent his high school and college years in Kentucky and has called the Bristol area home for nearly 30 years.

Outside of his professional life, Robert enjoys exploring global cuisine as a self-taught foodie, with a focus on Asian, Mexican, and Italian dishes. He is also an avid musician, currently learning and playing cello, banjo, guitar, mandolin, and mandocello. In his downtime, he enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy. He enjoys spending time with the love of his life, Rachel, and their two Great Danes, Jack and Bowen, and their grown children.
