40 Under Forty: Dr. Paige Gilbert-Green

The Business Journal recently honored our own Dr. Paige Gilbert-Green as one of the rising stars of the region’s community through the 40 Under Forty program.

Hailing from Southwest Virginia, Dr. Paige Gilbert-Green and her husband have planted deep roots in Johnson City, where she serves as a primary care physician. Paige can’t recall a time in her life when she didn’t want to be a doctor, and she is now living out that dream after starting Highlands Family Medicine in Johnson City along with two other female physicians. The experience of living in an underserved area where access to medical care was hard to come by gave Paige the desire to make quality healthcare accessible to everyone in a welcoming environment. Paige’s positive impact on our region extends beyond her practice. She has volunteered with a plethora of organizations in our region, including Remote Area Medical and the Niswonger Children’s Hospital Radiothon. As her nominator put it, our community is a better place because Dr. Paige Gilbert-Green chose to be a part of it.
