Dr. James Hansen is a distinguished physician and leader at State of Franklin Healthcare Associates, specializing in Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine. With over 35 years of clinical experience, Dr. Hansen has dedicated his career to providing exceptional care to his patients, advancing medical knowledge and contributing to the betterment of healthcare practices.

Dr. Hansen believes in a patient-centered approach to healthcare, prioritizing communication, empathy and comprehensive care. He is dedicated to not only treating medical conditions but also to educating his patients on how to maintain and improve their health.

The Boone, Iowa, native holds certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal and Sleep Medicine. A graduate of the University of Iowa, he received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine from Creighton University in 1986.

Dr. Hansen joined the Johnson City Internal Medicine family in 1999. He is an American College of Chest Physicians Fellow.

Dr. Hansen’s noteworthy tenure includes 10 years as president of SOFHA, during which he has been an active member on the board since 2003.
