Medical Doctor

Dr. Hunter grew up in Middle Tennessee and moved to Michigan during high school. He attended Michigan State University for his undergraduate degree and Wayne State in Detroit for medical school. He did his Family Medicine Residency in Roanoke, Virginia.

He came to Kingsport in 1979 and began practice. He was employed by Holston Medical Group and Mountain Region Family Medicine until 14 years ago when he branched out on his own. He’s had an independent family practice since 2003. He started at the SoFHA Walk-In Clinic in 2016.

Dr. Hunter is married to Jennifer Ford Hunter and they have three children; Nicholas (Frances), Wesley, and Chandler. He has two grandchildren; Maggie and Henry. Dr. Hunter loves traveling, gardening, and gamebird hunting.
