Doctor of Physical Therapist

I was born in California, and I grew up in a military family. My family chose to settle in East Tennessee in 1997, and my parents are both enjoying their retirements here in our beautiful Appalachian mountains. After my undergraduate degree, I moved to Memphis for a few years and then to Chattanooga for a few years more, but eventually I realized I wanted to come back to East Tennessee.

My journey to Women’s Health began in Memphis in 2010 when my daughter was born. I had a tough time recovering from an unplanned C-section, but I was determined to find a path to healing. I took up playing women’s roller derby and learned a lot about fitness, nutrition, and my new body. I also had a lot of special conversations with so many wonderful women from all walks of life about how we each deal with injuries and physical pain.

I realized that I wanted to build a career in Women’s Health, and I completed my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at ETSU in 2019. In my clinical education experiences I have worked with women dealing with anything from back pain and pelvic orthopedic issues to incontinence, complex pain conditions, sexual health issues, and more. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to manage physical struggles while learning how to be a new mom, and I also have experienced the joy of finding what it means to feel strong and healthy again. I have learned that every woman’s story is unique, and I believe every woman deserves to feel at home in her own body.

I am so proud to join the team of providers at State of Franklin OB/GYN Specialists. I believe there is a revolution in women’s healthcare happening here in East Tennessee, and I am looking forward to seeing what we will accomplish together.
