Clinical Pharmacist


Dr. Ashley Smith is a clinical pharmacist at State of Franklin Healthcare Associates (SoFHA) where she works collaboratively with multiple providers to optimize medication therapy for patients including those transitioning from hospital discharge. Dr. Smith is originally from Auburn, AL and completed pharmacy school at Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy. Prior to accepting this position, she completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health Care System in Savannah, Ga and her PGY-2 Ambulatory Care residency at Lexington Veterans Affairs (VA) Health System in Lexington, KY. She began her career at the James H. Quillen VA Healthcare System as a clinical pharmacy specialist with a concentration in hepatology and formulary management. She also served as a clinical preceptor for East Tennessee State University College of Pharmacy. She currently holds her board certification in Ambulatory Care. Dr. Smith enjoys working with all patients to improve their understanding of medications and improve health outcomes, but she has particular passion for management of infectious diseases, kidney disease, COPD and smoking cessation. In her free time, she enjoys going on adventures with her daughter.
